The Society’s Young Leadership Division is the next generation of leadership in our community. It brings together 20-40 year olds through the Society’s social, educational, and advocacy events, allowing YP’s to connect with other young Jewish professionals who are interested in making a difference!
The Society is excited to launch the “Our Future Our Responsibility Series” which will provide young professionals with the opportunity to meet with outstanding leaders in the world of business whose lives and careers have been shaped by the Holocaust. We are delighted Ed Sonshine, CEO and President of RioCan REIT, launched the series, speaking to young professionals on November 3.
Ed Sonshine, born in Bergen-Belsen Displaced Persons’ Camp in Germany and the son of Holocaust survivors, inspired his audience with his presentation, elaborating on his philosophy on the interconnection between business success and philanthropy with the Holocaust.

“Building Bridges of Understanding” is another YP initiative that will bring together Young Professionals of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths for an opportunity to connect with each other as they view BESA, a remarkable mobile exhibit created by Yad Vashem Jerusalem. BESA, meaning code of honour in Albanian, features Muslim Albanian Righteous Among the Nations- gentiles who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. You won’t want to miss this!
